Ateliér 11 (WIP)
This project came about while attending an art residency through L'AiR Arts in Paris Ateliér 11 is the last original artist studio in the Cité Falguiere cul-de-sac in the 15th arrondissement near Montparnasse. I experimented with manipulated projections of Amedeo Modigliani's paintings on the cracks and walls of where he worked. The results are elongated and abstract forms in the vain of how Modigliani's Nude series was created.

The In-Betweens is a series that focuses on the emotional extremes of mood disorders. After being diagnosed with this in my late twenties, I started looking for photographs of my childhood that represent these emotional fluctuations that are so hard to control. These photographs validate a lot of the emotional breakdowns, tantrums, and various stages of isolation that I experienced while growing up. By working with the archive I am gaining an understanding of how this diagnosis has been a part of my landscape since birth, and therefore how it has affected my personal relationships, profession, and overall self-growth.

Let Me Remove Myself is an exploration of grief and loss for a marriage that never happened through digitally removing information from photographs from a long-term relationship, while pairing them with conversations between ourselves and others regarding doubts about the survival of lifelong commitments. The result is the feeling that the only way to move on is to delete the memories of the shared past life, as if the relationship never happened.
